The SwirlSep for the Upstream Oil & Gas industry has been developed in cooperation with Frames Separation Technologies BV  in Woerden, The Netherlands. The marketing, sales and delivery of SwirlSep’s for the upstream industry will be managed through Frames’ worldwide network (www.frames-group.com).

After a successful test of the first SwirlSep at the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) BV – a joint venture between Shell and Exxon -end 2014, a first Multi-Phase Flow Meter skid using SwirlSep will be delivered to a State Oil Company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Q1 2017. Sales activity has now commenced and feedback is positive, with several orders being expected within the coming period.

Frames has recently announced the development of a Subsea SwirlSep in cooperation with Royal IHC in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands.

Applications of the water-phobic coating within the Oil & Gas Industry are foreseen on (sea-water) heat exchangers to avoid scaling, glycol heaters (salts depositions), but have for now not been pursued actively.
